New Projects

I'm currently working on a new project for www.ISAllStars.com for information systems professionals.

Current Work

I'm a consultant, so I'm constantly jumping into new projects. At first it's a little weird because you're the new guy. And with most companies (especially older/established ones) there's usually a huge learning curve because of all the domain knowledge you're trying to acquire.

But currently things are going great. I'm working on a new base architecture for WCF Services. This includes a visual studio template as well as a base framework for facilitating future development. As a result, I'm having to present a lot of this stuff, so lots of UML it is. I'm doing everything from traditional Class diagrams to Sequence diagrams to Use Cases, to non-traditional functional and layer decomposition diagrams. But, it's fun trying to determine the best re-usable technology.

I love all this stuff. The only problem is, I can't talk/describe this stuff to many of my family members, girlfriend, or buddies. I guess it's better that way though--it keeps my personal life grounded.
